Different levels of independance
Sit-skiing
Discover the joys of sit-skiing with the guidance of a specialised instructor! Depending on your level of independence, we offer different types of chairs for a tailored experience:
  • Tandem: Glide safely in a chair guided by an instructor, suitable even for those with significant disabilities.
  • SkiKart: For greater independence while staying safe, designed for people with use of their upper limbs.
  • Dualski: Offers increased stability for skiers with lower-limb disabilities.
  • Uniski: The most common option for independent sit-skiers; less stable than the Dualski or SkiKart, ideal for those seeking a more autonomous experience.
All equipment is provided and may be loaned under certain conditions, with departures just 50 metres from the Handiski chalet.

What types of sit-skis are available?
Depending on your level of independence, several types of sit-skis are available:
  • TANDEM: Driven by an instructor, it allows even those with severe disabilities to ski safely on the slopes.
  • CART: Designed for those who wish to ski independently, with use of their upper limbs but not enough balance to ski on a Uniski or Dualski.
  • DUALSKI: For people with lower limb disabilities. Offers improved stability compared with the Uniski thanks to two fully articulated skis.
  • UNISKI: The most commonly used device for independent sit-skiing, but more challenging to manoeuvre than a Dualski or Cart due to its lower stability.
